UNSETTLING THE STONE
Hacking at Korean Lilac roots
with the big ax
trying to take all the light
from the green rock
set by stone garden workers
scholar rock sensei picked out
himself, master’s voice
singing through stone,
Swing again, swing again!
You will never be a gardener.
