The Bicycle Prayers
Long after the free fall
Long after the Look-what-I-can-do
and early morning walk
into the dew-soaked garden
socks and pant cuffs wet
and all thoughts of return
gone as well
his red bicycle stood waiting
by the side of the house
a question mark. What
did he need of questions?
Why did he kneel before the geraniums?
